Tyler Kalina is a dynamic music educator with a passion for helping young people achieve excellence through music. A multi-faceted educator, he is able to work effectively with elementary, middle school, high school, collegiate and adult learners. Mr. Kalina believes strongly in the power of music and that it can reach, and be learned, by anyone.

Students under Mr. Kalina's tutelage have been accepted to the Iowa All-State festival, many university and regional honor bands, and has several former students in the three Iowa state university marching bands. Mr. Kalina enjoys discussing and participating in education and music education research, and his research on Percussionist's Artistic Fulfillment was part of a research poster session at the 2013 Iowa Music Educator's Conference.

 

Mr. Kalina is a member of the Iowa Bandmasters Association, the Iowa Music Educators' Association where he is Chair for the South Central district, a member of Professional Eduactors of Iowa, and is a member of the National Federation of Musicians.
